The unchecked powers granted to Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) are deeply concerning for our democratic process. By installing his own unelected personnel within federal agencies and granting them sweeping access to sensitive systems like Medicare and Medicaid payments, Musk is overstepping his role as a private citizen. Dismantling agencies like USAID, which provides critical humanitarian aid globally, is a decision that should involve rigorous oversight and approval from Congress - not unilateral action by the executive branch. The American people will not let our government get away with ignoring this concerning issue. Elon Musk should be investigated, as he should not have the DOGE position anyway, considering that he receives federal contracts for his multiple companies and will have access to competitors' sensitive information. He is compromised. We do not want a bigot who did a Nazi salute on the inauguration stage in our government. I urge you to use your authority to rein in these disturbing overreaches that threaten government accountability and transparency. The American people deserve to have their interests protected by our elected officials, not subjugated to the whims of a billionaire operating in the shadows. Preserving our constitutional system of checks and balances is paramount.
