No tax cuts for the rich, no cuts to the programs that invest in Michiganders

To: Rep. Bohnak, Sen. McBroom, Gov. Whitmer

From: A verified voter in Marquette, MI

February 24

I am writing to urge you to oppose any tax cuts that primarily benefit the wealthy and to reject harmful cuts to state programs that invest in everyday Americans. Our economy is strongest when we support working families, fully fund education, expand healthcare access, and invest in infrastructure—not when we hand out tax breaks to those who need them least. Weakening these programs would disproportionately hurt our most vulnerable neighbors—seniors, children, people with disabilities, and low-income families—undermining the very foundation of a strong and fair society. Instead of cutting lifelines, we must strengthen them to ensure opportunity and stability for all. Please stand firm and defend these essential programs for the good of our communities and Michigan’s future.
