I believe that the recent state directed use of electronic devices, including pagers, as explosives within the country of Lebanon was terrorism, including the definition of terrorism under USA Executive Order 13224. I ask that our government immediately cease all forms of aid and coordination with the current government of the State of Israel. I ask that our government consider resumption of any such support (i) following free and fair elections in the State of Israel and (ii) only if such elections lead to a new government that pursues policies more aligned to principles of respect for (a) the international laws of war and for (b) the human rights of individuals under its legal or de facto jurisdiction. I believe these policies of respect for treaty obligations, our laws, and human rights are aligned with American ideals and are in the interests of the people of the United States of America. Thank you for your efforts to bring about these changes in US foreign policy.
