Oppose S. 3023 , law enforcement shouldn't get to exploit kids.

To: Sen. Warnock, Rep. Carter, Sen. Ossoff

From: A constituent in Hinesville, GA

February 2

The language of S.3023 exempts members of law enforcement and other entities from liability for storing CSAM. As a constituent, I am firmly opposed to limited liability for any kind of CSAM storage, no matter who is doing it and for what purpose. Law enforcement, the FBI and even ICE exploit children with the distribution and creation of CSAM, even if it is used to catch predators via sting operations. Law enforcement needs more liability, not less, especially after ICE killed several innocent people with no consequences. If I were to store CSAM, I would rightfully be in jail. Why should law enforcement and the entities that support them not be named as distributors or possessors of CSAM? They should be subject to the same laws as the rest of us. This will create an incentive and a demand for CSAM, under the guise of keeping evidence for law enforcement. This endangers minors and creates a 'catalogue' for predators disguised as protectors. This, coupled with invasive ID and photo checks, is a benefit for powerful predators operating in positions of authority.
