June 25

Pass HR 8561 Please support, sign on, and vote for, Rep Dina Titus's bipartisan bill, HR. 8561. This bill, the *Commission on Americans Living Abroad Act.* is bipartisan. It will establish a formal commission to study the challenges faced by millions of U.S. citizens living overseas and deliver policy recommendations to Congress. Key Details of H.R. 8561:Purpose: To understand how U.S. laws and policies impact Americans abroad and to fix issues concerning bureaucracy, voting, and representation. The U.S. is one of very few nations where citizens abroad must pay taxes to their nation of citizenship even while living abroad. Obstacles for Americans living abroad include: limited access to banking services, complex tax burdens, and obstacles to voting and representation, all driven by U.S. federal laws and policies with unintended consequences. More Americans live abroad than the population of many entire countries; there are more Americans living abroad than the combined populations of Wyoming, West Virginia and Idaho. Please support this bill and the future work of this commission.
