Modify the Take It Down act to support free speech

To: Rep. Thanedar, Sen. Peters, Sen. Slotkin

From: A constituent in Detroit, MI

April 9

Please oppose House: H.R. 663 / Senate: S. 146 the Take it Down Act. As currently written, the act does not adequately safeguard lawful speech or protect the privacy of citizens' communications. This is definitely an important issue and the bill is trying to address it, which is great. But we must reject any solution that can be used to censor free speech and narrow civil liberties, and so far the bill’s language could be used in that way.
