Reclaim Congress's role and duties: oversight and appropriations are your job.

To: Sen. King, Sen. Collins, Rep. Golden

From: A verified voter in Lewiston, ME

October 19

What happened to the congressional duty of oversight? What happened to Congress's power of appropriations? The massive and peaceful NO KINGS demonstrations are a message to you. It's time to stop tyranny and executive overreach. It's time for members of Congress to do their constitutional duty. There's no money for children with special educational needs but there's money to raze the White House and build a ballroom? There's not enough money for ACA subsidies but Kristi Noem has had the Coast Guard buy her not one but TWO private jets for 172 million? George Santos gets a pardon? But innocent humans are being locked up and disappeared by ICE? Someone is being paid with our tax dollars to make a video of a be-crowned Trump flying a small plane that showers excrement on peaceful patriotic Americans who are showing their love of our nation by exercising their first amendment rights? Do you support spending on this wasteful idiocy? Please resume Congress's constitutionally enshrined duty of oversight. Please insist on oversight meetings for every committee you are a member of. Restore constitutional order. Impeach Trump. Reclaim Congress's powers and duties -- not only oversight but also appropriations. The No Kings marches should encourage you to halt executive overreach and carry out Congress's roles and duties.
