Preserve federal funding for unbiased public media outlets

PBS and NPR play a vital role in providing unbiased and fact-based news to the American public, serving as an important counterweight to the potential spread of misinformation or partisan narratives from the executive branch. Their independence from commercial pressures and governmental control allows them to serve as trusted sources of objective journalism, holding leaders accountable regardless of political affiliation. Preserving robust federal funding for public media outlets safeguards a free press and the public's access to accurate, nonpartisan reporting - a cornerstone of American democracy. Cutting subsidies to PBS and NPR would undermine this crucial Fourth Estate function and deprive citizens of reliable information needed to make informed decisions. As such, continued public investment in these institutions is imperative to upholding government transparency and the public's right to know.
