Another day another round of war crimes and war crime threats from Trump.

Donald Trump just posted something that highlights a few really bad and embarrassing things about him and how people view this country. First, threatening war crimes is extremely serious. And yes, a president threatening to target civilian infrastructure, such as power plants, "including those located next to, or in, the Capital City of Tehran," constitutes a threat to commit a war crime. Which is exactly what Trump did this morning — again. As many recall, he made similar threats back in March. You know, way... way back when we had "won" this war for the first five or six times. We've "won" it roughly 40 times now, by this president's estimation. Another thing this highlights is just how unhinged and deranged this president is. It's not even that shocking anymore to see someone in his position publicly threatening to commit war crimes. With any other president, repeatedly threatening to openly commit war crimes would be a major scandal. With Trump, it's literally just another Wednesday. Which brings me to my next point — and maybe why my second point is what it is: almost no one takes him seriously. Could he follow through on this? Of course he could. He's mentally unwell, a failing president, and he's becoming more desperate by the day. The problem is that whether or not he follows through on this threat is largely irrelevant because few people take these ramblings from him seriously. That's what happens when you have a president who lies faster than people can fact-check him. You know, the kind of president who claims they "totally obliterated" a nation's nuclear capabilities last year while citing the reason they started a war months later as being to "prevent them from having a nuclear weapon" — a justification that clearly contradicts the earlier claim of the "total obliteration" of that nation's nuclear program. Yet those are still the two talking points he's sticking to. Two conflicting statements that cannot possibly both be true, but that's the story he's going with. Or a president who has repeatedly made claims that simply aren't backed by reality, such as saying Iran's military has been "totally destroyed" even as it continues launching attacks on other nations and American lives have recently been lost. I'm not sure how a non-existent military can keep attacking other countries. Then there's the aforementioned 40-plus times this president has claimed we've "won" the war, even though it's clearly still ongoing, with no end in sight. That's not "4-D chess." It's just lying and incompetence. When a nation has a president who rambles like a crazy drunk at a local bar, incoherently making wild claims and pushing nonsensical conspiracy theories, who has a reputation for making bold declarations only to immediately backtrack by saying, "They want to make a deal, so I've decided to delay..." — people eventually stop taking the raving lunatic seriously. Which is quite the testament, considering this is the President of the United States we're talking about. The last main point this post proves is just how increasingly desperate Trump is becoming. From Fox News hosts to members of Congress, we're seeing more and more people on his side openly tell him he needs to find a way to end this. Even they're running out of bullsh*t excuses to keep defending what I think will go down as one of — if not the — most incompetent acts by a president in this nation's history. Trump has no plan. Trump has no strategy. Trump has no leverage. He never has. This president really believed Iran was going to go just like Venezuela. So when it didn't, he had absolutely no idea what to do. Let's be real here: they never once — not at all — had any plan for what would happen if the Iranians closed the Strait of Hormuz. Absolutely none. Which is why we're essentially five months into this war, heading into the sixth, with little to no sign that it will be ending anytime soon. Instead, we have a flailing president and a Republican Party barreling toward a midterm election they desperately don't want to face while this war of Trump incompetence (or, as I sometimes call it, "Trumpcompetence") is still ongoing. And here's the thing: Iran knows that — which is exactly why this president has no leverage. This is just a sad and embarrassing time for this country. We have a president who is so mentally unhinged, erratic, and such an international joke that his threatening war crimes is largely shrugged off because he's such a lowlife, unethical piece of crap and such a blowhard that few people take him very seriously at all. Yet MAGA thinks the world respects the United States more than ever? That belief, in and of itself, proves what a brainwashed, delusional cult it is. There's not a nation on Earth — ally or rival — that respects this country more now with Donald Trump as president.
