We need Democrats to act

To: Sen. Durbin, Sen. Duckworth, Rep. Krishnamoorthi

From: A constituent in South Elgin, IL

May 21

Where is Democratic resistance and leadership? Many of us are spending all our free time writing letters, making calls, and attending meetings and protests. What are you doing? Why wasn’t there a line of Democratic lawmakers blocking the door to the Library of Congress when DOGE showed up? Why does it seem like you are only up for giving speeches or glad handing at a rally? Where are the Democratic lawmakers leading the way and making good trouble? People are dying because of the actions of our government. People in our own country and abroad. You don’t need polls and consultants to work out the right message. You need to break some eggs and take action to show that you know that this moment is not just politics as usual. There are so many terrible things happening every day. What are you doing and what are you going to do? Rise above your own political aspirations and make a difference now!
