Freedom of the press, support of cruelty here & abroad & support of Ukraine

To: Sen. Peters, Sen. Slotkin, Rep. Huizenga

From: A constituent in Battle Creek, MI

July 26

I am a concerned citizen looking at how big money has taken over our country. I’m appalled at our country’s inhumane treatment of those abducted by ICE, no due process, no proper legal review of who is being abducted without any concern about their status in America . I’m truly concerned about our support of a war criminal, Netanyahu, and not the starving people in Gaza. We can’t support Israel and the people of Gaza at the same time, that will simply lengthen this conflict. We should not be supporting the cruel and inhuman treatment of those people in Gaza being starved to death. I want our country to strongly support Ukraine in their war against Russia. Don’t let this war against Russia and authoritarian governments stretch out across years but send Ukraine what they need to silence the drones from Russia. I’m also heartbroken over the loss of many of our legacy news agencies and the ability for people to get news that is the truth, no half truths but the truth so that the people can make better informed decisions. Because the wealthy own the legacy news agencies and will do the regime’s bidding. Freedom of press is under attack by this regime and freedom of press is one of our tools to protect our freedom and democracy.
