The "One Big Beautiful Bill" threatens to disrupt the progress made in expanding clean energy solutions like solar power that are critical for addressing climate change. I strongly oppose this bill's plan to abruptly eliminate the Investment Tax Credit and financing programs for solar projects, as it would destabilize the industry, jeopardize thousands of jobs, and undermine America's energy independence. This ill-advised move comes at a time when demand for electricity is surging due to the effects of climate change, and solar offers the most cost-effective and rapidly deployable solution to meet our energy needs while avoiding blackouts, rising utility costs, and further exacerbating climate change through increased greenhouse gas emissions. A more gradual phase-out would allow the solar industry to adapt while preserving our energy resilience and ability to mitigate climate impacts. An affordable, reliable, sustainable, and climate-friendly energy future is at stake. I strongly urge the reconsideration of this bill's provisions and the maintenance of policies that foster growth in the vital solar energy sector to combat climate change.
