Block the Trump Administration's Unauthorized $1.8 Billion Slush Fund

To: Sen. Slotkin, Rep. Walberg, Sen. Peters

From: A verified voter in Stevensville, MI

May 29

Take action to permanently block the Trump administration's $1.8 billion so-called "anti-weaponization" fund. A federal judge has already issued a temporary block, and the June 12 hearing is an opportunity to make that permanent. Congress never authorized this fund. It was quietly created through a settlement Trump's private attorneys arranged with the executive branch — a lawsuit a Florida federal judge questioned whether any court could even hear, given that Trump effectively controlled both sides of it. This is public money being funneled through a process with zero congressional oversight to benefit Jan. 6 defendants and other political allies. Jan. 6 prosecutor Andrew Floyd, who led the Capitol Siege Section before being dismissed, has stated plainly that the administration is "gifting" perceived political allies access to an illegally created process designed to "rush money out the door." Even Senate Republicans delayed a border security funding vote over concerns about this fund. That should tell you everything. Use every legislative and oversight tool available to shut it down for good.
