Replace Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries as leaders of the Democratic Party. The voters sent a clear message in recent elections: they want a new generation at the helm. Keeping the same faces in charge ignores that mandate entirely. Schumer has had his chances and has repeatedly come up short for the party and the people it claims to represent. Jeffries, too, has not delivered the bold, forward-looking opposition this moment demands. Clinging to legacy leadership while the party loses ground is not a strategy. The Democratic Party's future belongs to the next generation of leaders. I expect those with influence over this decision to act on what voters have been saying loudly and clearly. Step aside and make room.
