An Open Letter

To: Rep. Bergman, Sen. Stabenow, Sen. Peters

From: A constituent in Lake City, MI

December 10

I wanted to share some thoughts about the current situation. It's clear that many people are feeling frustrated and overwhelmed right now. I've been concerned about how folks are managing their daily lives, especially with so many struggling to make ends meet. It seems like there’s a growing feeling that we need to listen more to the experiences of the average American. Since Brian’s passing, I’ve noticed a renewed sense of hope among people. This has sparked conversations across different groups, bringing together those who are fed up with the cronyism and corruption that often drives us apart. Many are starting to express their concerns about the economic divide in more open ways. With up to 44,000 lives lost each year during Brian's tenure at United Health Care, it's a stark reminder of the challenges people face. Brian’s leadership may not be the worst in the industry, but it raises questions about accountability among executives in various sectors. People are understandably tired of struggling just to get by. The rising costs of living and the quality of services leave many feeling squeezed and anxious about their financial future. It’s disheartening when basic needs become a race for resources, and I believe it’s time for change. If we don’t address these challenges collectively, there’s a real risk that frustrations could lead to more extreme responses. Open communication is essential, and we need to ensure that we’re hearing the lived experiences of everyday Americans. I think it’s important to learn from our first missteps, like not engaging enough with the voices of average Americans. Ignoring these concerns only drives a wedge between us. Let's work together to create solutions that lift up everyone. At our core, many of us realize that our true fight is for economic equality, rather than being divided by political lines. Hope is powerful, and for many, it means Hearing Other People’s Experiences. This is why platforms like TikTok are so vital; they've become spaces for people to connect, share hope, and support one another. Let’s have open conversations and seek ways to improve things for everyone. Together, we can work towards a brighter future.
