Back the Ban Flock Act and push for its passage. Flock's network of AI-powered license plate readers has become a mass surveillance infrastructure operating without meaningful public consent — and federal agencies are actively exploiting it. Local police ran Flock lookups on behalf of ICE, tracked people attending immigration protests and No Kings demonstrations, and a Texas officer used the system to hunt down a woman who self-administered an abortion. This isn't hypothetical abuse. It's documented and ongoing.
The Ban Flock Act would prohibit federal agencies from using automatic license plate readers, cut federal funding to state and local governments that deploy them, and give Americans the right to sue when their rights are violated. That's exactly the scope this problem demands. Senator Hawley's Stop Flock Abuse Act offers some guardrails, but guardrails aren't enough when the underlying surveillance network shouldn't exist in the first place. Co-sponsor and champion the Ban Flock Act. The infrastructure for a surveillance state is being built right now, and Congress has the power to stop it.
