Redraw the state voting districts to better represent voters

To: Lt. Gov. Patrick, Rep. Jones, Gov. Abbott, Sen. West

From: A verified voter in Dallas, TX

June 12

The voter statistics for Texas reveal a concerning lack of fair representation. With 46.5% of registered voters identifying as Democrats compared to only 37.95% as Republicans, the current district maps favoring the GOP do not accurately reflect the will of the people. This partisan gerrymandering distorts democracy and disenfranchises nearly half the state's voters. To uphold the principles of representative government, the district maps must be redrawn through an impartial and transparent process that ensures each voter's voice is given equal weight, regardless of party affiliation. Fair maps are essential for all Texans to have confidence that their vote truly matters. I urge you to take immediate action to enact non-partisan redistricting reforms that will end gerrymandering and restore integrity to our elections.
