I am writing to express my disgust at the hypocrisy of you and your Democratic colleagues regarding ABC’s suspension of Jimmy Kimmel’s show over his inflammatory monologue linking Charlie Kirk’s assassin to “MAGA” supporters. Your outcry over this as a free speech violation is laughable given Democrats’ decade-long campaign to censor conservative voices while shielding their own. In 2017, Democrats cheered when Roseanne Barr was fired from ABC for a tweet comparing an Obama aide to an ape, with the Obamas demanding her ouster. In 2021, Biden’s administration pressured social media to censor “misinformation,” with Psaki admitting to flagging posts and Biden accusing platforms of “killing people.” The FBI and DHS suppressed the authentic Hunter Biden laptop story, targeting conservatives like Dr. Robert Malone. In 2022, Democrats rejected FCC transparency resolutions while urging cable providers to drop Fox News, Newsmax, and OAN. The “Disinformation Governance Board” aimed to silence conservative-leaning content, and Alex Berenson was censored for COVID posts. Hollywood followed suit: Gina Carano was fired from Disney in 2021 for questioning cancel culture, applauded by Democrats. Kimmel mocked Tucker Carlson’s 2023 firing, yet you call his suspension “despicable” (Schumer) and “anti-democratic” (Murphy). Post-January 6, Trump’s ban and conservative shadow-bans were celebrated, with Pew Research confirming disproportionate censorship of right-leaning users. Your selective outrage undermines free speech. I demand you denounce Democratic censorship, support FCC transparency, and protect all voices. Stop excusing progressive censorship while decrying conservative pushback. This double standard erodes trust in our institutions and fuels division. Voters demand consistency, not convenience, in defending the First Amendment for everyone, not just your allies.
