Frankly, the fact that this bill was even introduced is alarming. Its sponsor should take the time to review basic U.S. history and constitutional law, because this proposal shows a clear misunderstanding—or disregard—for both. Legislation like this does nothing but divide, weaken our democracy, and betray the spirit of a nation built by immigrants. I strongly urge you to reject this bill in the strongest possible terms and stand firmly on the side of American values and constitutional principles.
