Impeachment is a patriotic duty: stop normalising shredding the constitution

To: Sen. King, Rep. Golden, Sen. Collins

From: A verified voter in Lewiston, ME

July 8

When the constitution requires it, impeachment is a patriotic duty. The longer you delay impeachment, the more you normalise the annihilation of the constitution and the rule of law. The longer you delay impeachment when it is required by both the constitution and your own oath to defend the constitution, you more you betray your oath to the constitution and normalise allowing our founding principles to become a dead letter. Please reread the Declaration of Independence, the first amendment and the war powers act. Review the principles of checks and balances. Remind yourself what Habeas corpus consists of. Remind yourself that birthright citizenship is enshrined in the constitution. You were elected to serve your constituents and you took an oath to defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. Impeachment is a patriotic duty not a partisan issue. Please, do your job, the one you were elected to do, according to the oath you swore.
