First, I oppose the Republican reconciliation bill completely. I want the Senator to vote no. But I also understand that Sen. Michael Bennet will be filing an amendment in it to nullify the settlement agreement that barred the IRS from auditing Trump, his family and their businesses. Whatever happens with ICE and CBP funding, I expect the Senator to support that amendment, as well as one to eradicate the 1.8B dollar fund for good. Todd Blanche can’t be taken at his word. Congress needs to codify that the fund is dead.
Second, I want the Senator to vote no on a clean re-authorization of FISA. Now that Bill Pulte is in charge of National Intelligence it’s become even more dangerous for the government to have access to Americans’ data. We need strong protections like those spelled out in the Government Surveillance Reform Act, introduced by Sens. Ron Wyden), Mike Lee, and others. Thanks.
