The Israeli army has now accepted the accuracy of the Palestinian Health Ministry’s death toll in Gaza, totalling over 71,000 people killed in what a UN commission concluded is a genocide. They also stated that the number does not account for Palestinians who were starved to death as a result of Israel’s blockade on food and clean water, or those who died from diseases exacerbated by Israel’s years-long genocide in Gaza, its blocking of medical equipment, and the frequent and deliberate bombing of hospitals. 83% of those killed by Israel were civilians, according to their own data, with Israel mostly conducting aerial bombardments and artillery shelling from a distance, indiscriminately targeting homes and densely populated civilian areas. As a result, 81% of all structures in Gaza have been completely destroyed or damaged by Israel. Israel has, however, used precision airstrikes (weapons designed to hit exact targets) to bomb schools and hospitals, without providing any credible evidence that Palestinian fighters were present. As of late 2025, Israel had targeted all 19 universities in Gaza and bombed 526 out of 564 school buildings. Every hospital in Gaza has been bombed and raided throughout the genocide. During the so-called ‘ceasefire’, Israel has continued to kill 492 Palestinians, with more dying as a result of their ongoing blockade of food, shelter, medical supplies and humanitarian support. Israel continues to ethnically cleanse Gaza even now. Their illegal occupation and violent crimes against humanity must end. I call on you to urgently: Impose full, comprehensive sanctions on Israel. Enforce a complete two-way trade embargo, ending all import and export activity. Immediately end all arms sales and intelligence cooperation. Ensure unimpeded access for aid and humanitarian organisations. Demand an end to the illegal occupation.
