Protect Kids Online Without Forcing ID Submissions

To: Sen. Peters, Sen. Slotkin, Rep. Bergman

From: A constituent in Beulah, MI

February 25

Congress, protect children online without turning platforms into biometric data collectors. Instead of requiring minors to submit IDs or facial scans, platforms should focus on moderation and enforce rules banning sexualized content for minors. There’s a balance: adults can exercise sexual freedom, but kids must be shielded from sexualized harm, exploitation, and trafficking. Age verification shouldn’t become a Trojan horse for surveillance — enforce content standards, not forced identity collection.
