Stop conceding ground on transgender rights. The UK Labour Party tried this exact strategy — embracing anti-trans policies to court right-wing voters — and it destroyed them. They went from a 411-seat landslide majority to polling at 19%, lost 1,500 council seats, and Keir Starmer just resigned after a revolt from within his own party. Capitulation didn't win them converts. It cost them their base.
America has always stood for the idea that everyone deserves a fair shot — that's not a slogan, it's the foundation this party is supposed to defend. Eight House Democrats already voted to give Trump more power to strip funding from schools that support trans students. Gavin Newsom retreated on trans sports. These aren't strategic pivots — they're the first steps down a path that ends with trans people stripped of legal recognition, barred from restrooms, and cut off from healthcare. The UK is already there, now classified alongside Hungary and Russia for having no functioning legal gender recognition process.
There is no concession that satisfies the opposition. Every retreat invites a new demand. The Democratic Party's worth, right now, is in being the one major party that hasn't abandoned trans Americans. Hold that line.
