Dear Representative,
I am writing to state my clear opposition to any war of aggression against Iran and to demand that Congress exercise its constitutional authority over war powers. The United States must not be drawn into another unnecessary conflict based on claims that have been repeated for decades without resolution or proof.
Since the 1990s, Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly asserted that Iran was only weeks away from developing nuclear weapons. These warnings have been used for decades to justify escalation, yet the predicted outcome has never materialized on the timeline claimed. It is unacceptable for Congress or any administration to pursue regime change or military escalation based on assertions from foreign political leaders rather than transparent, independently verified evidence presented to the American people.
Americans remember the false and misleading claims about weapons of mass destruction that led to catastrophic wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Those conflicts cost trillions of dollars, destabilized entire regions, and resulted in immense loss of life—including American service members. The public has not forgotten those failures, and it is Congress’s duty to ensure they are not repeated.
The American people are more informed, more educated, and more capable of evaluating government decisions than at any point in history. We expect transparency, restraint, and adherence to the Constitution—not unilateral escalation into another war without clear justification, authorization, and accountability.
Congress must assert its authority, demand full transparency, and prevent unauthorized military action. Your oath is to the Constitution and to the American people, not to political expediency or external pressure.
I expect you to oppose any unauthorized military escalation and to publicly defend Congress’s constitutional role in decisions of war.
