As a non-binary member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I know exactly who will be next if we don’t stop this now. Kilmar Abrego Garcia (a Maryland resident never convicted of any crime) was abducted by ICE on March 12, 2025, and sent to El Salvador’s CECOT torture prison. This isn’t just about one man. This is the Trump administration’s beta test for disappearing marginalized people when they seize power, and the world is watching whether we’ll hold them accountable.
Why This Is a Fire Alarm:
They deported Kilmar precisely because he hadn’t been convicted of anything. They’re proving they can vanish anyone, anytime. How long before Black activists, trans leaders, or outspoken immigrants are "removed" under this same playbook? The paperwork is drafted. The machinery is primed. And history WILL judge us for how we respond today.
Three Non-Negotiables :
1. Extract Kilmar from CECOT NOW – Every hour risks his murder (we need PROOF of LIFE. The world sees our silence as complicity.
2. Subpoena ICE and force public testimony – Make them admit this was a trial run for mass disappearances.
3. Pass the Kilmar Act immediately – Ban deportations of non-convicted residents. No exceptions.
This is my community’s future in the crosshairs, and the authoritarian future of this country. I’m watching. The world is watching. We WILL hold every official accountable for enabling this cruelty, whether by action or inaction. The time for statements is over.
We need you to:
- Take the floor and name this** what it is: A live drill for fascism, with Kilmar as its first victim.
- Force votes that brand the complicit – Put every colleague on record: Are they with us, or with Trump’s deportation squads?
- Wield every procedural tool to freeze deportations until 2025. No more "deep concerns." We need war-room urgency.
In solidarity, I thank you for being my representative!
