As your constituent, I’m contacting you about the agreement that moves NIH research money to the Pentagon.⁣ Nature reports NIH and the Pentagon signed a deal in August to move hundreds of millions of dollars of disease research money into military programs by September 30. Congress's budget writers say they were never told.⁣ I'm asking you to demand this agreement be terminated and every NIH dollar awarded to medical research by September 30, as Congress directed.⁣ Infectious diseases don't go away because money gets moved to fund an unnecessary war of choice.⁣
