We do not handcuff elected officials for standing with their constituents. We do not silence voices of conscience with zip ties and brute force. I demand that you condemn this act publicly and unequivocally. Demand a full investigation into the events that led to this disgraceful abuse of power, and take action to ensure it never happens again—to Senator Padilla or to anyone else serving the public in good faith.
