I am hoping this letter reaches you well. I am urging you all to provide assistance to those in need this hurricane season. Parts of Orlando are still recovering from last year’s Hurricane Ian, Texas has been greatly impacted by Beryl, North Carolina has lost entire towns after the flooding from Helene, Georgia is trying to heal from Tropical Storm Debby and Hurricane Helene, and Milton is set to cause devastation to these already fragile communities forced to deal with weakened infrastructure.
The every day person is forced to deal with the climate catastrophe, which is only made worse as a result of the environmental damage done to Palestine by military operations the United States is funding. The ongoing genocide is against the best interests of your constituents, because rather than having emergency funding to support us in the aftermath, our tax dollars are instead going to making the environmental problems worse, releasing carbon emissions while killing innocents in Palestine.
I am imploring you to do your part in funding FEMA, whether it’s showing your support for additional funding, writing the legislation, or signing it into law, FEMA needs funding. If we are able to send an additional 8.7 Billion in taxes to Israel, we should be able to give FEMA an additional 9 Billion to FEMA.
Nearly 200 are deceased from Helene, and Milton has Floridians evacuating at rates that hasn’t occurred since Hurricane Irma. The weakened infrastructure will cause devastation and make rescuing those unable to leave incredibly hazardous as these areas have not recovered yet. In large part because there isn’t enough funds to start rebuilding.
Do your part. Do what’s best for your people. Send more aid to FEMA, not Israel!
