I am writing to demand that Congress take immediate, sweeping legislative action to halt the corporate monopolization of our daily survival infrastructure. Giant corporations, billionaire oligarchs, and foreign conglomerates are systematically dismantling the public's ability to fix their own goods, grow their own food, and access affordable local alternatives. This crisis spans from our tools to our tables. In the technology and automotive sectors, corporations use predatory software locks and "parts pairing" to crush local junkyards, salvage lots, and independent repair shops, forcing skyrocketing repair costs onto everyday citizens. Simultaneously, in our agricultural and food sectors, corporate land grabs are buying up fertile acres, driving up land prices, and destroying family-scale farms. Under the guise of strict regulation, independent farmers' markets are being squeezed out, and seed patent monopolies are making it practically illegal for producers to save and replant their own crops, while local ordinances are increasingly used to deny citizens the fundamental right to grow their own food in their own backyards. National Family Farm Coalition When multinational entities use inflation, price-gouging, intellectual property law, and weaponized zoning to prevent citizens from bypassing the corporate supply chain, it is a direct assault on American self-reliance and food sovereignty. If we cannot fix our own electronics and vehicles, and if we cannot legally grow, harvest, or trade our own food without corporate middle-men, we do not live in a free society. I urge you to pass a comprehensive Federal Right to Repair Act, support the Farmland for Farmers Act to stop corporate land-grabs, and enact robust federal protections for food sovereignty, independent local markets, and the right to grow food. Do not allow corporate greed to regulate self-reliance out of existence.
