Protect constituent rights to vote
To: Gov. Shapiro
From: A constituent in Royersford, PA
February 7
Protecting the right to vote is one of the most important responsibilities in a democracy. Every eligible citizen should be able to participate in elections safely, securely, and without unnecessary barriers. Public confidence in elections depends on maintaining both strong safeguards against fraud and fair access for voters across all communities.
Recent debate around the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act has raised concerns among many Americans about how changes to voter-registration requirements could affect participation. While the goal of ensuring that only eligible citizens vote is widely shared, policies that require additional documentation or create new administrative hurdles could unintentionally make registration more difficult for some eligible voters.
