Demand an independent inquiry into recent U.S. military strikes

To: Sen. Slotkin, Sen. Peters, Rep. Bergman

From: A verified voter in Marquette, MI

December 6

I’m urging you to support a full, independent investigation into Secretary Hegseth’s alleged order for a second strike that targeted survivors on a disabled boat in the Caribbean. I’m also disturbed by reports that this incident is part of a broader campaign involving numerous U.S. strikes in the region since September, with many fatalities and no clear legal basis provided by the administration. If unlawful orders were issued, that would violate U.S. and international law. Congress must act to protect the rule of law, the integrity of our military, and America’s credibility. Congress must now: 1. Obtain and release the full September 2 video. 2. Hold immediate hearings on legality and oversight. 3. Compel sworn testimony from all involved officials. 4. Suspend or remove anyone responsible for unlawful killings. 5. Prevent any unauthorized expansion of hostilities. Accountability strengthens our national security, protects the integrity of our military, and shows the international community that the United States takes its legal and moral obligations seriously. Thank you for your time.
