Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, and Peter B. Hegseth, Secretary of Defense are impeached for Treason, and that the following article of impeachment be exhibited to the Senate:
Article of impeachment exhibited by the House of Representatives of the United States of America in the name of itself and of the people of the United States of America, against Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, and Peter B. Hegseth, Secretary of Defense, in maintenance and support of its impeachment against them for Treason:
Definition: Treason
The Constitution provides that the House of Representatives “shall have the sole Power of Impeachment” and that the President and all civil Officers of the United States, “shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” Further, the Constitution declares that “Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort” In their respective conduct, Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, and Peter B. Hegseth, Secretary of Defense have, while performing the duties of their office —and in violation of their constitutional oath to faithfully to execute the duties of their office and, to the best of their ability, to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States — engaged in Treason by levying war against the United States and it's people.
