Forcibly deporting individuals and imprisoning them in overcrowded prisons raises serious human rights concerns. Mass incarcerations, particularly of immigrants and ethnic minorities, echoes the injustices of historical atrocities. We should reject any policies that enable human rights abuses and deprivation of due process. Instead, I urge exploration of humane alternatives that uphold the dignity of all people, address root causes of migration through diplomacy and foreign aid, and reform our justice system to end the cycle of marginalization. A just society treats all people, regardless of national origin, with compassion.
