There is an upcoming vote on funding for the Department of Homeland Security.
Agents of the department have been brutalizing US citizens and unlawfully detaining them for some time. That’s bad enough, but recently, as the nation watched, an agent murdered a US citizen in broad daylight. The agent in question, Johnathan Ross, chose to flee the scene, spoiling evidence and taking with him the alleged murder weapon. Rather than follow protocol and investigate the shooting, the department has aided and abetted Ross’s flight from justice, keeping him hidden from state and local authorities.
Given the ongoing lawless and unconstitutional behavior of this department’s agents, it is not appropriate to fund this department going forward. Please work with your colleagues in the senate to ensure that no further funds are appropriated for DHS until agents are held accountable for their crimes against the people.
Thank you.
