Instead of accepting a loss on his tariff policy, even after the Supreme Court (with justices he appointed) ruled against it, Trump immediately pivoted to trying a new version that will likely face the same legal fate. It’s less about governing at this point and more about refusing to concede ground. The pattern feels deliberate — you push a legally questionable action, lose in court, repackage it, and force everyone (states, agencies, courts, the public) to fight the same battle all over again. That constant churn creates instability and fatigue. If there’s a strategy here, it seems to rely on wearing people down. Governance by exhaustion isn’t sustainable. He will lose.
