The Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO) unfairly reduce or eliminate Social Security benefits for over 2.8 million hardworking Americans, including many educators. The Social Security Fairness Act (S. 597/H.R. 82) would fully repeal these unjust provisions that deprive seniors of the benefits they earned and paid into over decades of work. With overwhelming bipartisan support from 326 House cosponsors and 62 Senate cosponsors, this legislation aims to restore fairness and security for millions of retirees. I urge you to pass the Social Security Fairness Act without delay to ensure all Americans can receive their full earned Social Security benefits in retirement.
