President Trump has publicly threatened to annihilate Iran's power plants, bridges, oil infrastructure, and possibly its desalination plants — the systems civilian populations depend on to survive — if his personal deadline is not met. This is reckless. It is potentially a war crime under international law. And it is being threatened without a coherent end-state, without congressional authorization, and without regard for the consequences to American service members already in the theater. You have a responsibility — not just as a legislator but as a moral leader — to say so out loud. History will record who stood up and who stayed quiet. I am asking you to stand up. Condemn these threats publicly. Reassert congressional authority over the escalation of this conflict.
