Why can't we place children with a family member or foster care when their parents are in ice custody? How can we justify the cruelty of jailing children? We shouldn't be arresting people without a warrant to begin with, but children? The lives of immigrant children are no less valuable than our own children. Every person in those detention centers should still be getting access to healthy food, clean water, and medical care. How did we become the evil we have always fought against in other countries?
