I was extremely disappointed (again) at the democrat’s lack of action last night during the felon occupant of the White House’s address to congress. Holding up bingo-esque signs and a having a cute color theme is not an effective strategy against an authoritarian or fascist. Rep. Al Green appeared to be the only democrat willing to literally stand up and effectively resist last night. Additionally, why did seemingly no one follow his lead? Why can the democrats not take decisive actions against this administration? How much louder can we yell for you to do something? We are protesting, we are calling you and our other reps, we are organizing at the local level, we are calling out the abhorrent behavior of the far right, we are boycotting. What are you doing? Truly, what are you doing to stop this at the government level? I work as a nurse practitioner in the emergency department at a community hospital. I see patients every day who already cannot afford their medications or medical care. Our ER is often laden with patients who cannot get to their doctor for months as no appointments are available. Our medical system is already stretched thin and overwhelmed and has been for years now. When is enough enough? Take action! Disrupt! Yell!! The time is now! Please respond in writing to this letter.
