It's time to eliminate the grift, corruption, betting & polymarket politics that have sullied our public life throughout the Trump administration. I ask you to do oversight, issue subpoenas, legislate, and make judicial referrals. Please also legislate to reinstate the federal inspection employees formerly tasked with ensuring compliance with the regulations that should prevent some of the corruption and self-dealing. The corruption associated with the Trump administration is an abomination. You are surely aware of the issues I refer to. First there is the dynastic profiteering: The Trump family has used the presidency to rake in unheard of profits. Crypto: $3.02B Persian Gulf deals: $425.8M Qatari jet: $150M Legal fees/merch: $127.7M Mar-a-Lago: $125M Corporate deals: $91M Hanoi hotel: $40M Truth Social: $25M Don Jr: $19.6M Remind me: has Congress done oversight on Jared Kushner's income from the Saudis and his role as an envoy and negotiator? Then there are the polymarket bets and insider trading: Here's Heather Cox Richardson's summary: "On Thursday, the federal government arrested a special forces soldier who was part of the operation to arrest Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. The soldier placed a bet on the Polymarket platform about the timing of Maduro's capture-and earned a $400,000 payout. See CNN, US special forces soldier arrested after allegedly winning $400,000 on Maduro raid. The use of inside information on public prediction markets can compromise highly sensitive information that could put at risk the lives of US military personnel. Foreign intelligence agencies undoubtedly scrutinize prediction markets for abrupt changes in odds — a sure sign of insider trading on insider information. Meanwhile, three US politicians were disciplined by prediction market Kalshi for placing bets on their own prospects to win a political campaign." Almost since the start of the Iran war we have heard of massive trades made made by a small number of traders immediately before Trump's sudden announcements of direction changes-- almost as if the bizarre policy about turns are a payola scheme. Congress itself is overdue to regulate itself to prevent insider trading. The Trump detention policy functions as a payout scheme for the private contractors who operate the abusive concentration camps that underpin the detention agenda. This is a vile perverse incentive. What a litany of greed and disgrace. These scandals are not merely shameful; they are an abject stinking disgrace. They undermine what is left of our national integrity -- and our hope of re-establishing that. Let me implore you to make each of these categories of corruption a priority. Corruption should be a bipartisan issue. Please reply to let me know what actions you have taken, are taken or will undertake. Inaction is assent.
