I am writing to express my strong opposition to the deployment of Flock Safety automatic license plate readers in our community. In a free democracy, citizens should have the right to move about public spaces without being subjected to continuous, privatized dragnet surveillance that logs their location, associations, and daily habits. Mass-scale tracking tools like Flock cameras treat every motorist as a suspect under constant investigation, centralizing highly sensitive travel data in databases that are ripe for abuse, hacking, and mission creep. Our security should never come at the cost of the fundamental right to privacy, and I urge you to reject the expansion of this invasive surveillance network.
