Speak out against an unelected billionaire influencing and controlling our gov

To: Rep. Edwards, Sen. Hertel, Gov. Whitmer

From: A constituent in Saint Clair Shores, MI

February 3, 2025

The decision by the Trump administration to grant Elon Musk's DOGE commission broad access to sensitive government systems and classified information is deeply concerning. Allowing an unelected billionaire's private team to circumvent established security protocols poses a severe risk to national security and undermines public trust. This action undermines the integrity of government institutions and the rule of law. We request that the administration immediately revoke DOGE's access privileges and conduct a thorough review into any potential breaches or mishandling of classified material. Government records and intelligence must be protected from exploitation, and whistleblowers like the USAID security officials should be praised for upholding their legal obligations rather than punished. Unchecked overreach by Musk's DOGE commission threatens the fundamental principles of democracy and accountability that our nation was founded upon. Stronger oversight and safeguards are urgently needed to prevent further abuses of power.
