I urge you to firmly oppose H.R. 1579, the misguided "Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act." This discriminatory bill seeks to unfairly ban transgender girls and women from participating in sports according to their gender identity. It promotes harmful narratives, undermines Title IX protections, and directly attacks vulnerable young people. As representatives, you should stand against this legislation that legalizes discrimination and transphobia. Inclusive policies that respect all students' rights should be the priority, not politically-motivated attacks. Reject H.R. 1579 and any efforts to marginalize the transgender community. Furthermore, transgender people should be permitted to use the bathroom, locker room, or other single sex spaces in Federal Buildings aligned with their gender identity.
