Vote no on Todd Blanche's confirmation as Attorney General. More than 1,200 former DOJ employees have already urged the Senate Judiciary Committee to reject him, and the reasons are damning enough to disqualify him from leading the nation's top law enforcement agency.
Blanche helped orchestrate a settlement that could funnel $1.776 billion to Trump allies — including Jan. 6 insurrectionists — while shielding Trump, his family, and his businesses from all IRS and agency investigations. That's not a legal settlement; that's a backdoor blanket pardon. He oversaw politically motivated prosecutions against Kilmar Abrego Garcia and James Comey, with one judge throwing out an indictment and citing "abuse of prosecuting power." He mishandled the Epstein files, exposing nearly 100 victims' names and defying the Epstein Files Transparency Act. And when former pardon attorney Liz Oyer refused to restore gun rights to a domestic abuser as a favor to the president, Blanche fired her and sent U.S. Marshals to deliver an intimidating letter to her home.
Over 16,000 DOJ employees have left under his leadership, including more than a quarter of its attorneys. The department is being hollowed out and weaponized. A vote to confirm Blanche is a vote to ratify all of it.
