I am writing as a concerned constituent regarding recent reports involving Kristi Noem’s testimony before Congress about the approval of a taxpayer-funded advertising campaign. During the hearing, she stated that the president approved the spending, while the president later denied having done so. These conflicting statements raise serious concerns that demand clarification.
If a senior government official misled Congress, that must be investigated. If there has been misuse of taxpayer funds, that must also be addressed. The American public deserves transparency and accountability when public money and public trust are involved.
I recognize that our country faces many pressing issues, both at home and abroad. However, if we ignore potential corruption or dishonesty in the highest offices of government, it undermines the very principles our nation stands for. People are asked to sacrifice for this country, and that sacrifice must be grounded in trust that our leaders are acting with integrity.
For that reason, I urge you to support a thorough, nonpartisan investigation into these matters so the public can understand what happened and confidence in government accountability can be preserved.
Thank you for your service and for your attention to this concern.
