I am a constituent writing to urge you to co-sponsor and advance the Endometriosis CARE Act (H.R. 8565), which is currently awaiting action in the House Subcommittee on Health.
This bill would finally direct federal funding toward endometriosis research, education, and awareness. It is a critical step for the approximately 6.5 million Americans living with this chronic, systemic disease, which is now recognized as an immunological and inflammatory condition involving at least six major biological processes including immune dysfunction, inflammation, fibrosis, angiogenesis, metabolic stress, and cellular signaling abnormalities.
Despite millions affected, an estimated 70 percent don't get relief from standard treatment, leaving them to live with daily pain and repeated surgeries that fail to address the underlying biology of the disease.
Patients are asking that this funding go further to support non-hormonal, immune targeted treatments that address inflammation, pain, and immune dysfunction directly, not just another generation of hormone drugs or repeat surgeries. Promising research areas include JNK pathway inhibitors, GLP1 receptor agonists, and other immune modulating therapies that could finally treat the root cause of this disease.
Our community is urging Congress and the NIH to direct new research funds toward immune and anti-inflammatory treatments. Hundreds of patients and supporters have already signed this petition calling for that focus:

Please support the Endometriosis CARE Act (H.R. 8565) and ensure that new NIH funding prioritizes innovative, life changing research into JNK inhibitors, GLP1 receptor agonists, and other immune targeted therapies that patients urgently need.
Thank you for listening to the patient community. We are counting on your leadership to move this bill out of committee and into action.
