Markwayne Mullin, the guy who challenged a union leader to a fistfight on the Senate floor, is being floated to run the Department of Homeland Security. I do not want this walking diagnosis of untreated TBI to run the agency responsible for border security, disaster response, counterterrorism, and cybersecurity for the entire United States of America. This guy votes against anything resembling human decency, and thinks masculinity is best demonstrated by threatening elderly men in committee hearings. Homeland Security isn't a prize you hand out to loyalists who yell the loudest. It requires competence, judgement, and the ability to read a briefing document without using it to start a fire. Congress has the power to block appointments that threaten national security, and appointing someone whose primary qualification is kissing the shuffling meat-waffle's behind absolutely qualifies as a threat. Do NOT appoint Markwayne Mullen to run DHS!
