Block Trump's New Executive Actions Attacking Birthright Citizenship

To: Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Casar, Sen. Cruz

From: A constituent in Manor, TX

August 7

Do everything in your power to block Trump's latest executive actions targeting birthright citizenship. The 14th Amendment is not ambiguous — anyone born on U.S. soil is a citizen. The Supreme Court already struck down Trump's first attempt at this by a 6-3 vote in June. Signing a new order doesn't change the Constitution. This isn't just a legal question. Real families are being destroyed by this administration's immigration agenda. John Gannon, a 75-year-old lifelong Republican and Texas businessman, watched ICE agents swarm and arrest his fiancée at Houston's airport — a woman who entered the country legally, holds a pending asylum case, and has no criminal record. "They're destroying families, jobs," he said. If this is what enforcement looks like now, imagine what stripping birthright citizenship would enable. Push back hard. Challenge these executive actions, speak out publicly, and make clear that the 14th Amendment is not up for renegotiation by executive order. Birthright citizenship has been settled law for over 150 years. It should stay that way.
