I am increasingly concerned that the State of New York hasn’t fully outlawed detention facilities that ICE keeps trying to build in our communities. A few months back one was proposed for Chester, NY, now there’s one proposed very close to Stewart Airport in the greater Newburgh area. It seems like it would be obvious to ban them all together—kinda like data centers! Please use the full weight of your authority as governor to stop this madness. What exactly are those “consequences “ Houchel was talking about? When will this nightmare actually be stopped?!!
